Simple Kahlua Fudge Recipe

So although my kids love fudge, there are a few recipes that I admit I make just for me and my friends to enjoy. With my love of coffee, this Kahlua fudge is perfect and ever so tasty it’s softer than some others we have made but tastes equally as delicious. So here you go our ever so easy Kahlua Fudge Recipe.

Easy Fudge

Like our other easy fudge recipes here on Hey Mom! What’s Cooking? this uses an alternative to the traditional candy thermometer and mix of milk, sugar and butter. Instead in this easy recipe we use condensed milk.

The condensed milk is already a mix of the milk and sugar and speeds up the fudge making process plus it eliminates the need for the candy thermometer.

Making Fudge with Alcohol

As you are making fudge with alcohol this is an adults-only recipe (although to be truthfully most of the alcohol will burn off by the time you get to eat it).

However, it’s worth noting that when you make fudge with alcohol you will need to stir and boil the mix for longer because of the increase in the liquid content if you don’t you will end up with really soft fudge and the best fudge is one that has a little bit of bite to it.

Ingredients

  • 20 Oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp instant coffee
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 2 tbsp Kahlua
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  3. Place in the microwave and heat at 1-minute intervals until completely smooth and melted.
  4. Take out of the microwave and immediately add in the chunks of butter while hot. Stir until the butter is completely melted.

  6. Pour mixture into prepared dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow to harden.
  7. Once hardened, cut and enjoy!

Notes

This fudge recipe can also be made in a double boiler, just melt the chocolate and instant coffee powder together in the top bowl.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 7 - 14 days or in the fridge for 3 - 4 weeks.
