Ready for burger night with the family, but forgotten the buns? Or looking to make your own Hamburger Buns for a change? This recipe for the bread machine to make delicious burger buns using the dough setting is great and easy to make. So here you go our easy and simple hamburger bun recipe for the bread machine.

Bread Machine Burger Buns
Much like our favourite pizza dough recipe, this recipe for homemade burger buns saves us lots of work as the bread machine does the hard bit. They are tastier than store bought buns, fresher and shhh but don’t tell anyone we use the same recipe for our hot dog buns too!

I put all of the ingredients into the bread machine in the order below before heading out to do the school run on the dough setting.
Then when I get home the dough is made and it’s ready for a knead and rise before cooking ready for burgers from the grill.

Ingredients for Homemade Burger Buns in the Bread Maker
Don’t forget you’ll need to scroll down for the exact measurements for these burger buns and that you need to add them in the order recommended in the recipe unless your bread maker suggests otherwise.
- Water
- Active Dry Yeast
- Sunflower Oil
- Sugar
- Strong white bread flour
- Salt

How to Make your Burger Buns in the Bread Machine
Well Hey Mom! How do we make burger buns in our bread machines?
I’m so glad you have asked once your the dough is ready (use the dough cycle) then you’re just going to knead, shape into buns and let them rise until double the size. It’s best to do this on parchment paper. Then preheat your oven (see below for the temperature) brush the buns with an egg wash. Then place on a parchment-lined baking sheet for around 15 minutes (14 – 18 depending on your oven) until golden brown.
Allow to cool and there you go you are ready to go.
Homemade Bread Machine Hamburger Bun Recipe

Try this easy to make bread machine hamburger bun recipe next time you grill and be amazed at these soft fluffy rolls that are as easy as 123!
Ingredients
- 355 ml of hand hot water
- 2 and 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp of sunflower oil
- 2 tbsp of sugar
- 540 g of strong white bread flour
- 1 tsp of salt
Instructions
- Measure the water and add the active dry yeast.
- Leave for a few minutes until it starts to bubble
- Add to your bread machine pan
- Next, add in the sunflower oil and sugar
- Weigh and add the strong white bread flour
- Add the salt last. *we add the salt last as it can stop the yeast reacting if it comes in contact with it*
- Put into the bread machine and set on the dough cycle
- Once the cycle is finished turn out the dough onto a lightly floured surface
- Knead a little but not too much
- Lay some baking tray with grease proof paper
- Separate the dough into 12 smaller sections
- Take the dough ball and knead in your hands
- Then fold over the base to form a "bun shape" and place on the baking tray
- Once all of the rolls are formed leave to sit for around 30 - 45 minutes in a warm room
- Place in the oven at 200C and bake for between 14 and 18 minutes depending on your oven settings and how you like your burger buns
