This year we’re mainly staying in for Halloween, but the kids will be having a couple of friends around to watch some Halloween movies. But, it’s nice to make a little treat for them to enjoy as well as the buckets of popcorn that they love to pop.

However, it can take a while and when time is important – homework, after school clubs and dance lesson – I reach for my favourite Brownie Mix in a box from the store and quickly mix it up according to the instructions.


Yes, most of the time we have them with ice-cream but occasionally the frosting tubes come out and we get inventive.
These spider brownies took no time at all to decorate and added a little spooky fun to our dessert this Halloween.
Quick and Easy Spider Web Brownies for Halloween


A quick and simple brownie box mix treat for Halloween decorate with simple spider webs for a spooky dessert or treat to share.
Ingredients
- 1 box of brownie mix, any brand + box brownie ingredients
- vanilla frosting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180C and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper or foil (if you using foil, spray with non-stick cooking spray).
- Combine the brownie mix and ingredients.
- Pour the brownie batter into the baking dish and bake for 45-50 minutes.
- Insert a toothpick in the center of the brownies around 45 minutes, if it comes out clean the brownies are done.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
- Once cool, cut the brownies into 9 squares.
- Scoop the frosting into a microwave-safe dish and heat for about 10 seconds.
- Fill the small sandwich bag about 1/2 full with vanilla frosting.
- Use the kitchen scissors to snip one corner.
- Starting at the center of each brownie, gently squeeze the sandwich baggy and make a spiral with the frosting.
- Use the toothpicks to drag the frosting from the center to the outer edges of the brownie.
- Repeat with all the brownies.
Notes
If you would like thinner brownies then you can use a 9x13" baking dish instead
