It all in the mould. Felixible Silicone Molds are the easiest ones to use as they make it so easy to pop out your semi-sphere once the chocolate has set.
This is the mold we use it is available on Amazon you can purchase it here. It’s really flexible and we find it very easy to use.
Once you have your molds you need to use good quality chocolates or like these grinch bombs use candy melts as they will give you the best flavour and melt well with the hot milk.

The secret is to cover your mold with enough chocolate so that it’s not too thick that the inside doesn’t melt and not too thin that as you handle it it is way too delicate.
A good spoonfull and then using the back of the spoon or a brand new paint brush to apply the chocolate in the mold works best.
To get really good results you can apply a thin layer and then add another layer after that is set and build it up.
Grinch Hot Chocolate Bomb
So this Grinch version uses candy melts to create the bomb shape and then has cocoa powder and marshmallows in.

Because you will be adding milk to the hot chocolate bomb use a good quality hot cocoa powder not one that you mix with water.

Gifting these Hot Cocoa Bombs
These also make a great gift for friends and family and even the kids teachers especially if they are a fan of the The Grinch.
Depending on if you are hand delivering or going to send in some way there are 2 different packaging options we would recommend.
If you use the same silicone mold as us then you will produce a 2inch sphere so you need to make sure that the boxes are the right size to hold your chocolate bombs.
The plastic box is ideal to present the hot cocoa bomb with a flourish and packed carefully you can send them. The paper box is great for when you hand-deliver the cocoa bombs to others.
You need to make sure that your friend knows what to do with them! Can you imagine the mess if they thought it was a bath bomb. So why not complete the package with a customised label like these grinch labels ideal for this hot cocoa bomb.
