Instant Pot Pumpkin and Maple Syrup Porridge

Delicious warming autumn breakfast for the instant pot with pumpkin, maple syrup and sprinkled with yummy pecan nuts.

Release Time 12 minutes
Total Time 22 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel-cut porridge oats
  • 1 cup pumpkin coffee creamer
  • 2 cups semi-skimmed milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp soft brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • chopped pecans for garnish

Instructions

  1. In the pot of an instant pot add the oats, milk, creamer, salt and vanilla and give a quick stir.
  2. Close the instant pot lid.
  3. Set the vent to sealed.
  4. Press MANUAL and set timer for 10 minutes.
  5. Let the oatmeal natural release for at least 12 minutes.
  6. Release the pressure.
  7. Stir in the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, soft brown sugar, and cinnamon into the porridge.
  8. Serve into 4 bowls.instant pot porridge in a rustic bowl
  9. Add a sprinkle of chopped pecan nuts on top.
