Basic White Loaf in the Bread Machine Recipe
We do love our bread in the Hey Mom house and one of our most made recipes is a very basic white loaf recipe. It’s so simple to throw the ingredients into the bread machine the night before, set the timer for it to cook, and be ready for the alarm clock going off so that the family can have fresh bread and their favourite spread to head to work and school. I just had to share it with you, so here it is our favourite white bread recipe for the bread maker.

Making Bread in the Bread Machine
Through lots of trail and error and 3 different bread machines over the years we have some practice with them.

One of the most important things is that your salt should never touch yeast. To ensure that I always add the salt and sugar into the liquid and then add the flour on the top.

This can be against some of the other recipes that may call for a well in the flour to add the sugar, salt and yeast. But, as we tend to use the timer function and start it in the early hours of the morning there is a chance that the yeast and salt can touch.

By putting the sugar and salt into the liquid you solve that problem and end up with a perfect white loaf of bread in the morning.
