Easy Mozzarella Stuffed Meatballs Recipe
Pasta and tomato sauce is one of our go-to weeknight family dinners. We love how simple it is to make but often we will add in some meatballs to finish it off. Although we make these mozzarella stuffed meatballs as an easy appetizer, whilst we have no parties to go to at the moment we’ve taken to adding them to our weekly pasta night for some delicious mozzarella stuffed bites.
Cheese Stuffed Meatballs
When I first opened my cookbook to find a recipe to take these Meatballs stood out – with one problem they called for Italian Sausage. From spending time with my sister-in-law and American friends I knew this wasn’t our traditional Italian Sausage instead it was sausage meat flavoured with fennel and other herbs and spices that can be added to pizza or into a pasta sauce.

Really easy to make at home it is worth doing as it adds a little more flavour to the meatballs and that using plain sausage meat doesn’t. You can find our Italian sausage meat recipe to follow to create your own if you can’t find any where you live.
To Serve these Cheese Stuffed Meatballs
If you are serving them with pasta and tomato sauce then reheat them in the oven at 200C for a few minutes just before adding to the sauce. Then when you bite in you will discover the delicious melted mozzarella inside.

To serve as an appetizer these add a toothpick to the meatball and serve with a delicious and simple tomato dip.
Although to be honest if the kids have their choice a simple bowl of ketchup and they are happy.
