It does take a while to cook but it’s worth the wait so I tend to leave this to the holidays or weekend when breakfast isn’t quiet as rushed. Italian Sausagemeat Breakfast Casserole

When we make this we either use some good old English pork sausage or some of our homemade Italian Sausagemeat. Both are really tasty but the Italian sausage adds a little extra to the dish and gives you added warmth with the light spices included in it.

The eggs and milk over the potatoes and sausage makes this really fluffy almost like an omlet. We sprinkle it with cheddar cheese and save a little aside to be sprinkled on at the end so that we can get a delicious melted cheese top to the casserole.

Although we’ve called this sausage, egg and cheese casserole a breakfast dish you could easily serve it as breakfast for dinner and I’m sure the kids would love it too.
